Open Dress Rehearsals

The Delaware Symphony Orchestra welcomes students to our Open Dress Rehearsals for the 2010-2011 Season:  Thursday, January 20, 2011 and Thursday, May 19, 2011.

Delaware Symphony Orchestra Open Dress Rehearsals are:

    * Free of charge, no need for a reservation, just show up and enjoy the working rehearsal!
    * Open to middle and high school students accompanied by a chaperone and college students.
    * Feature a 7:00 p.m. pre-rehearsal conversation on the history and background of the works performed, and information on the guest artist.
    * Include a backstagetour of the Grand Opera House
    * Often include a Q&A session with the featured performer during intermission, when applicable.
    * Open dress rehearsals are a wonderful way to experience the symphony, behind the scenes.
    * Open dress rehearsals are a great and free way to earn recital attendance credit!

All Open Dress Rehearsals take place at the Grand Opera House, 818 N. Market St, Wilmington, DE.


Schedule for the evenings:

6:45 pm, Tour of the Grand Opera House—a bit of the history of this fascinating building, plus a look backstage at the operations behind the scenes!

7:00pm – brief introduction to the evening and the repertoire by Maestro David Amado

7:30pm- Open Dress Rehearsal (the rehearsal will conclude at 10pm, but there will be a break midway, in which guests are free to leave.)
